Description
This HO weymouth enables particularly sensitive and precise aids that meet the highest demands. Mouthpiece and side pieces act independently of each other on this bit. This allows poll pressure while at the same time relieving the tongue. Tilting due to one-sided rein aids is thus avoided.
The construction of the mouthpiece creates the best conditions to promote harmony between the rider's hand and the horse's mouth and to let your horse approach the weymouth in a relaxed way. The tongue relief is slightly arched and angled forwards; the transitions to the side piece are bevelled. The centre of the tongue is slightly relieved; the pressure on the tongue edges is low. When the rein is taken up, pressure is distributed evenly across the entire tongue. This HO weymouth is fitted with short shanks that ensure a quick action without building up strong pressure on the poll.
Where the weymouth is buckled, the horse's mouth tends to be somewhat narrower. We therefore recommend choosing the weymouth ½ to 1 cm smaller than the bradoon. It is important that the side pieces of the weymouth sit close to the corners of the mouth. If there is too much play between the corner of the mouth and the side piece, the weymouth can jam or also tilt.
The curb chain should be buckled so that an angle of about 30 to 45 degrees is possible between your horse's lip commissure and the lower shank.
